Meet Dr. William Shin

Dr. William Shin is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with nearly 14 years of clinical experience in oral surgery, dental implants, and sedation dentistry. He founded Jawline Oral Surgery in July 2026 after serving in private practice since 2017, bringing thousands of completed surgical procedures to his new practice in Cumming, Georgia.

Born in Huntsville, Alabama and raised in Southern California, Dr. Shin earned his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) at the University of California, Berkeley and his Master of Science (M.S.) at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He then pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry — the nation's #1 ranked dental school — graduating in 2013.

Following dental school, Dr. Shin completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at New York Medical College in 2017. As chief resident, he trained extensively in maxillofacial trauma, dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, anesthesia, pathology, reconstructive surgery, and orthognathic surgery.

Dr. Shin's philosophy of care centers on personalized, compassionate treatment with a warm bedside manner. He encourages every patient to ask questions and ensures they have a clear understanding of their diagnosis, treatment options, and recommendations. He believes exceptional care extends beyond technical skill — every patient should feel heard, informed, and at ease. By combining clear communication, empathy, and a lighthearted approach when appropriate, he aims to make even the most anxious patients feel comfortable and confident in their care.

With over 500 hours of continuing education completed after dental school — including 200+ hours in dental implants, 250+ hours in sedation dentistry, and 100+ hours in prosthodontics — Dr. Shin stays at the forefront of advances in oral surgery. He has utilized CBCT 3D imaging since 2013 and employs CT-guided surgical planning for complex implant cases.

Outside of patient care, Dr. Shin enjoys fitness, cooking, traveling, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
